Chiefs Fans Should Ignore The Noise After That Ugly Seattle Loss

The Chiefs lost badly to Seattle, but the real story is the upcoming game in Denver. Here is why the team will bounce back strong.

The internet loves a good scandal, but this one was built on a simple misunderstanding. Maxx Crosby never said Patrick Mahomes moaned when he got tackled. The Las Vegas Raiders star is setting the record straight after a podcast clip went viral last week. The clip sparked millions of views because the audio sounded like Crosby was accusing the Chiefs quarterback of making a noise. Now the noise is finally stopping.

Brogan Roback, the co-host of “The Rush” podcast, admitted the confusion was his fault. According to listeners, he stated that he was the individual who inquired whether Mahomes uttered the word “moan.” Roback admitted they could have used the word “grunt” instead. He said, “Yes, we could have said the word ‘grunt.’ But we couldn’t think of anything.” The host even noted he didn’t say the word in the actual clip either. He just let the the internet went wild.

The Podcast Host Owns the Mistake

Crosby is right regarding his never having directly stated that Mahomes moaned upon being tackled. The Raiders pass rusher was confused by the backlash. Crosby shot that back down immediately. He explained that Roback stopped him before he could even finish the sentence.

This is exactly why the internet is a crazy place. People hear what they want to hear. Last week, the video and subsequent report concerning Mahomes possibly moaning achieved viral status, according to Yahoo Sports. It created a narrative that never actually existed in the room. Significant mutual regard is evident between Mahomes and Crosby. Crosby sought to avoid complicating matters by allowing these moaning accusations to persist. He just wanted to clear his name and move on to the next game.

The Chiefs are back on the field soon after their bye week. They will host the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, Oct. 18 at 4:25 p.m. ET. Arrowhead Stadium will be packed for the matchup.
