It is only three weeks into the 2026 season, yet trade rumors are already swirling around the Kansas City Chiefs. The most surprising twist involves their own defensive end, Felix Anudike-Uzomah, potentially heading to the Chicago Bears. Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox suggested this change of scenery deal could help the player find a better path to a long-term role. The idea seems wild for a 3-0 team, but deals happen early when the right fit appears.

A Clearer Path Elsewhere

Knox argues that Anudike-Uzomah needs a new environment to truly shine. According to the report, “Anudike-Uzomah would be well-served to land with another playoff-caliber team that can give him a prominent rotational role and a clearer path to a long-term role than he’ll find in Kansas City.” The Chiefs have George Karlaftis locked in, and rookie R Mason Thomas is rising fast. This creates a logjam that might force Kansas City to move on.

The stats back up the need for a shift. Despite playing only 47 percent of the defensive snaps, Anudike-Uzomah started all three games. He has logged only two tackles and a single sack in that time. While he is on pace for more snaps than his first two years, the competition is fierce. The Bears could offer him the chance to be a primary edge rusher instead of a backup.

Why Chicago Fits the Bill

The Chicago Bears are listed as one of the ideal landing spots for the Chiefs’ pass rusher. Knox specifically noted, “Ideal Landing Spots: Baltimore Ravens, Chicago Bears,” when discussing where Anudike-Uzomah could thrive. Chicago needs help on the edge, even if their pass rush has looked solid so far. Dayo Odeyingbo has two sacks and 11 pressures, but the team always looks for upgrades.

Adding Anudike-Uzomah would give the Bears a high-upside player who knows the system. The Chiefs are 3-0, but they might prefer to trade an asset now rather than lose him later for nothing. The market for edge rushers is always hot, and the Bears have the draft capital to make a move.

The Chiefs’ Dilemma

It is hard to fathom the Chiefs shortening their depth chart while they are winning. They have a 3-0 record and need every hand on deck. Yet, the NFL is a league of change, and players often need a fresh start to reach their potential. The team might decide that a future pick is worth more than a backup rotation spot.

Per Sports Illustrated, the trade buzz is just starting to circulate. If the Chiefs decide to listen, the Bears are ready to talk.
